GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY SUPPORTS UPWARD WITH A $40k GRANT < Return to News

The Gila River Indian Community recently awarded $40k to support UPWARD’s integrated Childcare Program. Childcare centers all over the state have had a challenging time since the 2020 COVID Pandemic hit.

“This grant will help us meet a critical community need especially as the Federal Cares support grants for childcare end this month,” CEO Doug carter said. “UPWARD is one of the few childcare centers that provides care for children with special needs. UPWARD has been providing programs and services for children with special needs since 1958. Gila River has been a great supporter of Upward for several years and their support is much appreciated.”
