Lifting Children Upward
New Construction: $4,925,000
Upward will construct and equip two new buildings and upgrade its therapy center, increasing its capacity to meet the therapy, special education and childcare needs for children and families. Key features of the project include:
New Childcare and Administration Building (6,800 square feet) – Two (2) infant and childcare rooms to serve 10 infants and 20 children (18 months – pre-K), kitchen, group therapy room, office, conference space.
New School Classrooms and Adult Day Treatment and Training (13,500 square feet) – Six (6) classrooms to serve 58 students ages 3 to 22, two (2) adult day rooms to serve 16 young adults, two (2) nursing stations, sensory experience therapy room.
Covered outdoor play area including adaptive play equipment to accommodate multiple disabilities.
Temporary portable and modular classrooms to maintain uninterrupted services during construction
Land Acquisition: $225,000
Purchase of adjacent parcel (bringing total site to 2.2 acres) for improved parking and safety – enhanced traffic flow; addition of covered bus loading zone and covered entry for safety and comfort.
Two-year Program Expansion and Operating Support: $100,000
The Lifting Children Upward Campaign will also provide funds to support expanded programming to meet the needs of more children.
Renovate and Refresh Existing Therapy Building: $75,000
Enlarge and improve access, comfort and mechanical systems to support expanded programming to meet the needs of more children.
